Saguenay en Bouffe 2019

The Saguenay en Bouffe Culinary Festival will highlight the richness of the regional and Quebec terroir during its 31st edition, which will be held from October 10 to 20 in 10 restaurants in Saguenay.



"In order to meet the strong demand of consumers who want to eat more" local "and also satisfy the thirst for culinary freedom of participating restaurants, the regional products with flavors will be highlighted in the table d'hôte menus of the 31st edition of Saguenay en Bouffe ", explains chef Marcel Bouchard, president of the Festival.

No longer having the constraint of creating a menu inspired by a specific country, the restaurant owners will still have to respect some rules issued by the Boreal Zone, which is a new addition to the Culinary Festival. Promoter of the Ambassadeurs de Saveurs project, whose objective is to ensure the supply and development of regional products by accredited restaurant owners, the Boreal Zone will require participating chefs to use mainly products made in the region, then in Quebec, to build their thematic menus.

The Boreal Zone is a differentiated positioning strategy orchestrated by the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Agri-Food Table, which aims to encourage the purchase of local products from different types of consumers in all types of markets.



In each of the 10 participating restaurants, festival-goers will be able to find a choice of two tables d'hôte specially designed for the event available at a price of $ 32 and $ 39 plus taxes between October 10 and October 20.
