Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix is ​​a city of Quebec located in the MRC of Lac-Saint-Jean-Est, in the administrative region of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. Its origins date back to 1647 with the arrival of Jean Dequen in this part of Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean. Established on the shores of Lac-Saint-Jean, the towns of Métabetchouan and Lac-à-la-Croix developed from the twentieth century thanks to their farmland and dairy capacity. The forestry industry has also played a major role, considering that several mills have developed in the area.
