REFUGE FAUNIQUE DES BATTURES DE SAINT-FULGENCE
The largest brakish marsh in the region, on the shores of the Saguenay River, is a haven for geese and ducks with its varied vegetation. Parking and boardwalk.
Activities : Picnic area, wildlife observation and interpretation, short-range hiking. Guides available for nature interpretation and science and nature school activities.
Schedule : Year-round, reservations required in winter.
Admission: Fee charged.
Museums & Interpretation centers
Come and discover eagles, owls, hawks, falcons in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean’s only wildlife sanctuary.
The walking trails will take you past huge aviaries and to incredible views of the Fjord, its giant sand and rock spit and the vast tidal flats of Saint-Fulgence.
Children and parents alike will be enchanted by our baby birds in the center’s nursery.
Our guides and the exhibit will help you better understand the importance of this protected area and the hundreds of birds that inhibit it.
Schedule: June 30 to August 26, every day, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Off-season: May 19 to June 29 and August 27 to October 8, Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Groups year-round upon reservation. Monthly Scientific Tourism activity under the full moon, 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm (upon reservation, min. 10 people).
Admission: Adults: $10, seniors and students (13-18): $7.50, children (5-12): $5.00, children under 5: Free. Families: $30.00. Off-season: Adults: $8, seniors or students (13-18), $6, children (5-12): $4, children under 5: Free. Families: $24.00. Group rates available (10 +).
Average visit length: 1 ½ hours.
Last guided tour: 4:00 pm. (Off-season: 2:00 pm).
Science Travel
A moon and feathers (birdwatching).
Once per month (full moon). Reservations required.
Length: 3 ½ hours.
Wildlife observation
Bird-of-prey rehabilitation and conferences. Length: 1 ½ hours.
Service in English depending on availability.
Operating period: Year-round. Reservation preferred.
