In a range of activities, a made-to-measure New France experience! Guided tours: Enjoy a trip to New France with the inhabitants of the colony. Follow your guide and meet interesting characters while visiting the four sets recreating 17th Century Québec City. This outdoor museum features colourful characters, experienced guides and archaeologists. Equestrian show: Enjoy the exciting Cabrioles equestrian show as a family and witness the spectacular and unique relationship between man and horse; a professional production where international artists dazzle you with aerobatic horseback tricks, trapeze, aerial silks, juggling and dressage. Taste New France: A choice of three daily menus is offered at Le Dixseptième restaurant, featuring home cooking. Microbrewery beers, a wine selection and various refreshments are also offered at Le Petit Champlain bistro.

Right in centre town, Vieux Port de Chicoutimi is a natural gathering place. Outdoor shows and entertainment from June to August. Services: Marketplace, bike path, playground and water games for children, picnic tables, skateboard and rollerblade park, Jumpaï acrobatic trampoline for the whole family, petanque, restaurant, ice-cream parlour, outdoor terrace with a view of the Saguenay River.

La Pulperie de Chicoutimi regional museum, located in the heart of the city and open year-round, is a vast cultural and tourist entertainment complex dedicated to the promotion and preservation of regional heritage, as well as the presentation of art works. In addition to being a museum, La Pulperie de Chicoutimi constitutes a major historical site in the region due to its century of history. The museum repository holds more than 26,000 pieces and works of art. New this year: The permanent exhibition Shoulders to the Wheel, presented with the most advanced technology including visual guides with Quebec Sign Language (LSQ). You can also walk along the completely renewed interpretative circuit using the audio guides. Come and visit the famous house of painter Arthur Villeneuve and discover his universe! The temporary exhibitions featuring a great variety of exciting themes will fascinate you. Take full advantage of the summer’s activities at the Jardin des vestiges, with its captivating cultural programme that offers many activities, such as Ciné-Pulpe, La Légende d’Arthur Villeneuve at the Summer Theatre, Destinations lyriques, Rastel Musical, and Grand Marché Dubuc. Take part in the special activities for Halloween, Il était une fois… Noël and Easter Egg Hunt. Bring your picnic along and take a moment to cool down near the refreshing water games! Come inside and see for yourself the interior of the Petite Maison Blanche, the centenarian little white house that, for days, stood strong as a rush of water equivalent to Niagara Falls rumbled through it.
